Getting started in CSC-IT
I came to CSC-IT in 2020 as a project manager from a difference business sphere. The technical part was rather difficult, but my colleagues were sharing their knowledge eagerly, and I absorbed it like a sponge. Today I feel confident and apt to take on tasks of any degree of complexity. My first independent project was the creation of a corporate data network - we implemented it jointly with Rostelecom.
Most remembered projects
I will tell you about two. The first one was a project of creating a local infrastructure for CSC. I would like to specifically note the stage of migrating automated workstations of specialists from client domains to CSC. It was a technically complex process that had to be implemented without affecting business processes. We managed to do it within a fairly short time: we moved 1,600 employees from different sites in less than a year.
Another project that makes me proud is the relocation of the product SAP system from the data centre in Belgium to St. Petersburg. In a very compressed time, we selected a new data centre, purchased and delivered the equipment, and carried out the migration. It was quite a challenge, exciting and highly demanding. As a result, the system was successfully launched in the new data centre in St. Petersburg without any impact on current business processes. We worked in lockstep! It felt really cool.
My dream team
For me, there is a difference in meaning between the words “team” and “staff”. There is nothing to compare the feeling that you experience when you work in a team. Everyone is engaged and dedicated to one common goal. Team stands for support and unity at each stage of work.
About the speed of changes and the work-life balance
I am comfortable with constant changes and bored when everything is static. I am a dynamic person myself, so movement for me is balance, development and motivation. The feeling of work-life balance is different for everyone. My working day is not limited to hours: when there is a captivating task, I can forget about time and work longer hours. But I get a charge out of it, self-fulfilment and growth, and thus - more energy for other spheres of life.
About career opportunities in CSC-IT
When I was offered the position of head of the infrastructure development section, I did not take it right away. Probably, it was lack of faith in myself. Support came from my supervisor Denis Abramenko. I knew for sure that I was going where there was a team and teamwork. For me, it was not only a great responsibility, but also a huge step up in my professional development.
It was a difficult decision, and I am glad I made it. I have grown over this time.
